Sinpas Eco Town

Another one from Turkey, again by EAA-Emre Arolat Architects is the Sinpas Eco Town in Istanbul, which uses a number of green and passive cooling strategies for a large-scale development - including bioclimatic use of greenery.

  1. I own a Sinpas property. The place is a disaster, damp everywhere from new, terrible internal design (they sell off plan without showing full drawings, so you have no idea what you are buying), and one overall quality that would never pass inspection in Europe or much or the rest of the world for that matter. Their developments are built with an untrained workforce and supervision or works is non-exsistant.

  2. Yes,the projects of Sinpas are really disaster in every manner. They usually do terrible imitations of some specific historical buildings in Istanbul... But this one, designed by EAA, is unique and different... That's why it is an unbuilt project :) I know that Sinpas gave up this qualified project because they thought that they can not sell it easily ;)
This project was one of the finalists in WAF 2009, by the way...
